Shawtec's 10 Year Warranty

Our aim is to ensure your furniture stays looking great into the future. In the unlikely event a problem may arise, it will be dealt with appropriately and with minimum inconvenience to you.

We offer a 10 Year Warranty on all products in the CUA FRN 2012 range and that includes:

  • Metal Components. 
  • Timber Components. 
  • Fasteners. 
  • Surface Finishes. 
  • Assembly at the Manufacturers Facility. 

Subject to any express or implied statutory requirement, Shawtec's warranty has the following conditions:

Shawtec conditionally warrants its products to the original buyer, for the originally intended purpose under normal 40 hour/ 5 day weekly usage to be free from structural defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service, and given normal care, for 10 Years from the original invoice date. The warranty applies to the original purchaser and only for products sold and used in Australia.


  • Damage arising from abnormal use. 
  • Damage to wood/finishes caused by impact or abrasions. 
  • Failure to maintain products according to published Shawtec instructions and guidelines. 
  • Normal wear and tear, which is to be expected over the course of ownership. 
  • Damage incurred during transit. 
  • Damage resulting from freight damage, accident, alteration, misuse, tampering, abuse, negligence, or improper cleaning. 
  • Modifications or attachments that are not approved by Shawtec. 
  • Products used for rental or hire purposes. 
  • Upholstery coverings (These are covered only by supplier warranty; Shawtec will not be liable for recovering costs associated with faulty coverings). 
  • Castors (These are covered under warranty for a period of 12 months). 
  • Chair Gas Lift struts (These are covered by a 3 year warranty and have a comemrcial life of 5 years). 
  • Any indirect or consequential loss. 
  • Defects or damage caused by loads exceeding the load rating of the item.  
  • Damage caused by chemical or electro-chemical reaction, rust, corrosion or water damage including damage caused by abnormal environmental conditions. 
  • The warranty does not apply if products have been placed outdoors or in a humid environment and/or exposed to extreme conditions (Including prolonged exposure to direct sunlight). 

All maintenance and repair work must be carried out by Shawtec or an authorised repair agent.
All costs associated with the return of the product to Shawtec are to be borne by the purchaser and the product must be accompanied by proof and date of purchase.

Normal commercial usage for seating is defined as the equivalent of a single shift, forty (40) hour work week. To the extent that a product has been used in a manner exceeding this, the applicable warranty period will be reduced in a pro-rata manner (unless the product is specifically rated for 24 hour use).

We exclude and will not pay consequential or incidental damages under this warranty..
